Legal/Project officer, Death Penalty project,
Location: Lagos
  • Develop and implement projects towards the organizations strategic plan on the campaign for the abolition of the use of death penalty in Nigeria.
  • Initiate and manage strategic impact cases on death penalty abolition or restriction in Nigeria.
  • Manage the organizations project to introduce moratorium laws in Nigeria.
  • Any other related duties, or other duty assigned by the Executive Programme Director or National Coordinator.
Qualification requirements:
  • A degree in law, called to the Nigerian bar with not less than 3 years post call experience in NGO or other nonprofit sector.
  • At least 2 years experience in project management and campaign. Previous experience in death penalty campaign will be added advantage.
  • Deep commitment to the abolition of the use of the death penalty for all crimes.
  • Excellent writing skill.
  • Committed team player.
  • Good IT skill, good communication skill, good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
A writing sample and references from a previous employer will be required for this position
